About Dandelions
Dandelions are found on all continents “as commonplace as wildflowers” and have been around for many millions of years – long, long before us. They’ve been gathered for food – they are rich in nutrients and edible in entirety. We find dandelions in teas and tinctures, capsules and cuisine, and, of course, our backyards.
What’s so amazing about this plant is its ability to prosper with very little and in all sorts of soils and climates. They can survive the hottest summers and the coldest winters. They love the sun, but will do just fine in the shade. It’s why people who’ve endured childhood abuse but nonetheless managed to do well in life are called “Dandelion Children”.
In some way, we are all dandelion children. We have all endured difficulties and challenges, and each in our own personal journeys have needed to push on through negative patterns and thinking, confusion and polarity, impulsive behaviours, unstable relationships and intense emotions. And we still, like the dandelion, keep reaching towards the light anyway.
We keep searching for a sense of identity and for meaning and purpose. We have dreams and desires. We want health, wealth and happiness. We aspire to align body, mind and soul, taste the interconnectedness of life and feel whole. This space is about Dandelions and our journey for these things.
